We all want to be hopeful, happy, and engaged human beings, but sometimes that goal seems out of reach. You may be shaken by life events that feel out of control or struggle with difficult relationships that sap your energy and leave you frustrated, angry or bitter. Perhaps you are sad and can’t seem to shake the blues or feel uncomfortably anxious. Maybe you can’t sleep or agonize over expectations that haven’t been met. Your past or present may be marked by unresolved traumatic events: a heartbreaking loss or a difficult adjustment to what life has brought your way. You may not know exactly what is wrong, but something needs to change and you’re not sure how to make that happen. If any of these situations speak to you, you may be searching for a therapist to work with.

Seeking help is a brave and positive step toward a better future. Entering therapy can help you feel empowered and positive about what is to come. The collaborative process between a therapist and a client provides a safe and comfortable space to explore what is going on in your life. I can offer you time to talk, to reflect, to celebrate positive events or to be supported when things get difficult. Our work together is tailored to your unique needs and accesses evidence-based modalities and interventions to facilitate positive changes as you go forward.

My training and clinical experience have given me an appreciation for the importance of exploring past and present relationships, as well as identifying non-productive thought processes and behaviors. As a former educator and child advocate, I have worked with emerging adults and their parents for many years. As a former mediator, I have experience in calming volatile emotions and helping clients gain perspective in tough situations. I have worked clinically with survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and other forms of traumatic incidents and have supported and encouraged bereaved clients as they find comfort after loss. As an EMDRIA-trained EMDR clinician, I am able to offer this type of therapy for many clients who suffer from the symptoms of traumatic experiences. In addition, I provide a safe and welcoming space for people of all ethnicities and religious backgrounds and for members of the LGBTQ+ community. I hold a Minnesota LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) license. I am currently working in person and via my telehealth platforms, doxy.me and EMDRremote.com. Both are HIPAA compliant to insure your confidentiality.
